Dr. Turry was the recipient of the Arthur Flagler Fultz Research Award in 2012, given by the American Music Therapy Association to support the collaboration between the Center and Rusk Rehabilitation Institute at NYU Medical Center to develop and research an integrated music therapy/occupational therapy stroke rehabilitation program.

Dr. Alexander Pantelyat cares for patients with movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease and related syndromes, essential tremor, dystonia, chorea and normal pressure hydrocephalus. His research explores atypical parkinsonian disorders, such as dementia with Lewy bodies, progressive supranuclear palsy, corticobasal syndrome/degeneration and multiple system atrophy; cognitive aspects of movement disorders; and music-based rehabilitation of neurodegenerative diseases.

Eileen Day McKusick is a pioneering researcher, writer, inventor, practitioner, educator and speaker in the fields of therapeutic sound, the human biofield and electric health. Zachary Kandler, MA, MT-BC, LCAT is a graduate of the NYU music therapy program and has worked in clinical settings that serve neurodivergent children and adults. He joined the Nordoff-Robbins staff in 2016 as a clinician and moved into his current role as managing director in 2023. Zachary is a Level II trained Nordoff-Robbins music therapist and an Expert Training Leader through the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental Learning, which trains parents and professionals in the DIRFloortime™ model. Torkum Ji is a sound healer and sonic architect from Los Angeles. Luis Mendez is a resident in the jungles of Tulum, Mexico. He has 26 years of experience as a music therapist, ethnomusicologist, constructor of ancient instruments (such as the didje) and researcher of the therapeutic use of ancestral instruments. His objective is to recover the sacred and therapeutic use of ancient instruments, in order to remind us of our origin, our source, the Mother Earth and our individual essence.

in July 2009 when on the third day of lying in a coma in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit in Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City Mr. Schulman’s life was saved by the music of J.S. Bach (played via his iPod). The power of music to heal was made manifest and inspired him to give back with his guitar. Once recovered he received permission to return to that same ICU as a musician. 

Working closely with the doctors and nurses in the unit he developed the specialty called Medical Musician, bringing professional musicians trained in pertinent aspects of critical care medicine into ICUs as members of the medical team. 

Omer Faruk Tekbilek is a Turkish musician and composer, who plays a wide range of wind, string, percussion and electronic instruments. He has developed a style that builds on traditional Sufi music, but includes inspiration from ambient electronic musicians, most notably Brian Keane
